COMPANY HISTORY

Marick's Waste Disposal Inc. was started by our family removing trash for the town of Crook, located three miles from our family farm.  Already having a grain truck and a loader we used them as our means to haul trash for the town and area farmers.  Every other Saturday the family went to town and worked together to gather the trash from the town.  Before we knew it the number of customers had grown and we were buying our first packer truck.

The company started as Marick's Trucking as Coy also hauled dirt and Manure at the time.  As the trash part of the company grew Coy stopped hauling dirt and manure and focused only on the trash.  As a result of the growth the company name and logo were changed when it became an incorporation.  As a Christian family we decided to use the Christian fish in our logo.  The head of the households favorite color is royal blue which is where the company color originated. The cursive handwriting of "Marick's" was chosen so it would stand out and be very noticeable.  About three years ago a member of the family decided that we needed a new addition to the logo that would be even more memorable.  That is when the trash truck with the beaver coming out of the back was born.  Coy was nicknamed Beaver by his lifelong friend and mechanic years ago.  As a result the rest of the family got "beaver" added to there name or that became their nickname as well.  That is why a beaver is used.  Joe, Coy's son designed and drew the newest addition to the logo along with the "MWD".

The office for the company was in the family living room for the first two years.  It was then moved to a spare bedroom and eventually to a separate building behind the house.  We have grown from one computer and Mrs. Marick in the office to three computers and three office employees.  We have also grown to operate out of a second location in Proctor, Colorado.  All of our trucks are based out of this location.  All truck maintenance is done at this location as well as building and repairing dumpsters.

The number of customers soon became to much for a family of five to handle and we have since hired employees to help.  There are currently ten employees on the payroll.  We have also grown from that first packer truck to running six packer trucks and two rolloff trucks.
